About Proof Me
Founder: Sharlene Andrew, BSc (UCL), PGCert (UCL), MSc (KCL), 2 years doctoral studies (DClinPsy; UCL)
My academic studies and related work history (e.g. in the NHS and Ministry of Justice) have contributed to my 10+ years of writing and editing experience. I am experienced in editing and proofreading a wide range of content, ranging from essays, university dissertations, CVs, personal statements, work reports and promotion submissions to doctoral theses.
Proof Me came from my keenness to share the knowledge I’ve built up over the years with others - particularly with students and young professionals hoping to land university and internship places, and first career related jobs!
After completing my BSc in 2010, I started looking for relevant work experience (as most students do), but it was not easy. I quickly realised that there was more demand than supply for jobs, and that I was competing with hundreds of other students who were just as experienced as me. It was here the importance of a refined application became crystal clear, and I realised I needed to make an impact as early in the application process as possible.
It was only the invaluable advice I received from others at this crucial stage in my early career, that helped me develop a new application and interview technique to ensure I started making an unforgettable impression. As crucial as such guidance is however, I realise it is very hard to come by.
Over the last 10 years I have continued to refine these skills. Now, as a seasoned professional in this area, I really enjoy passing on to others the key gems of knowledge that were passed to me; it’s important to me that I continue sharing.
